You can't say you would have light because the light has already been taken away. (I was just thinking of random things when i thought of this).

  1. nothingness

  2. dark is the absence of light not a state

  3. You can't. There was dark always and then there was light.

  4. You cannot take away darkness anymore because that is already the absolute. It is a natural condition that without the light you will have darkness, but nothing more beyond that. There are certain factors in nature wherein there are only two choices: black or white, true or false, with or without, left or right. Light and dark(ness) is also among them.

  5. CraigJ - I fully grasp what you say.  I just think it's dumb.

Sounds like the armchair philosophy of a 19 year old rather than something to be taken seriously.

  6. Can't take the dark away. Light is an created and emitted thing, dark is just the absence of it. Even light can't escape a black hole, so a black hole remains dark, the darkness is not a "physical" thing for it to eat like the light is.

  7. You'd have YOU all alone in a dimension where nothing is everything and everything goes on forever.

  8. I think dark is nothing but the absence of light.

  9. dark is not the opposite of light, its the absence of light.

  10. A mathematical analogy would be: "We know that when you take 1 away from 1, you have 0. But what's left when you take 0 away from 0?"  Well, obviously 0 - 0 = 0. Dark is the absence of light like nothing is the absence of something.

  11. light is the propagation of photons on the fabric of space.

if you take light away you end up with empty space fabric.

so the only thing left to take away is the space fabric that light travels on.

if the fabric of space wasn't there, we wouldn't see light cuz light would have nothing to travel on.

  12. Because dark is the absence of light, and therefore a "negative" state, taking away the negative necessarily give you a positive (or more positive, for those who are keeping track) result. Taking away darkness, therefore, would have to result in light. I know this is not the answer you are looking for, but mathematically and scientifically speaking, it is the correct answer. If you post this under religion and philosophy, I will totally give you my buddhist answer =)

  13. Light.

    Psi

  14. You can't. You are the light and dark, and you are all there is.

Universe means a unit (one single thing) indefinitely malleable, versatile.............

Adapts to ALL situations. You are this universe. The great "I"......

You cannot NOT be you right?

Your wanderings are the fruit of absurd social conditionning.

If you don't grasp what I've said and you're over 16, please, please put an end to your life.

  15. I think this is the same kind of question as "If a tree fell in the forest and no one was around...". There would be no sound because sound is just a vibration. It is you that perceives this vibration as a sound. If you were blind there would be no light or dark for you because your eyes  would not be translating what is there. That's all it is. Our brains telling us that there is light and dark, loud or quiet, etc...
