I feel so bad but we lost my son's teddy bear that he sleeps with.I think I may have stuffed him in the good will trash bag by accident. I would like to get him another one but I dont know where to find the exact one we had. I was a snuggly bear with long ears and I looked on ebay and looked through hundreds maybe thousands of bears and can't find any. CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE!!!!! I feel sad for my little soldier who is trying to be brave without his beary.

  1. You can replace it with a puppet or a marionette which are the same thing as a teddy bear and usually ends up teaching them more. I place a link where you can find teddy bears and puppets.

  2. Try and track down the Good Will box, truck, bag or where ever you stuffed it and explain the situation, I am sure they will understand.  It may just end up at you local Good Will.

  3. i don't suggest getting the same thing.. try a new one so he can get over the old one quicker.

  4. Well another thing you can do is take him to build a bear so he can pick and choose exactly what he wants... he can even pick a name and clothes out for the little guy! Good luck! :)

  5. Is this it?

  6. I think trying to find something new could work, but I definately would call all the local Good Will stores and check with them.  My son would be devastated without his Yertle the Turtle and Pooh bear blankey, so I know what you're going thru.  If he's old enough to understand some, maybe you can talk to him about finding a new lovie that will protect him until his beary can come home.  (In a perfect world you'll be able to track him down, but if not maybe with time he'll get used to a new friend...)

Hey, another thought, maybe put a small ad in the local paper in hopes that if someone bought him from the Good Will, they'll understand the sentiment and bring him home to your little guy...

  7. I was also going to suggest Build-A-Bear, but with a different animal in mind.  It will be so much fun and perhaps you can put the birth certificate in a frame near his bed.  You can say a little good-bye prayer to the old teddy bear, and welcome the new night time snuggly!

  8. do you remember where you bought it?  brand name? try a google image search using "bear" and something identifying like the store or brand name.  If you know the brand, you may have more luck - you could contact the manufacturer.  So sorry to hear that happened.  Some people will probably say buy a new toy and move on, but we have misplaced our little one's bunny more times than I care to remember, and I can appreciate the wanting to replace it.  Can you link to a picture here on the answers website - and maybe post under Toys?  Just some thoughts.  If all else fails, do not try to get something that is almost like it - I would get him another lovey and make up a happy story about where the bear went - maybe even tell him that he has a very important job to help make a less fortunate child feel safe and happy.
