The Partenopei chief demands wins against Roma and Genoa
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has urged his team to improve their league form and end the year on a high.
Walter Mazzarri’s men have drawn four of their last five league matches and see themselves long way behind the league leaders, Juventus. The Partenopei side had prioritized the UEFA Champions League this season and their European
participation took a toll on their league performances. With almost a two month break between the group stages and the first knockout round, Laurentiis believes that it is right time for the Azzurri to get back to winning ways in the domestic league.
The Partenopei outfit has had a terrific year and the chief has insisted that the team must finish 2011 on a high. The Azzurri will face A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and Genoa in their next league games and the 62-year-old has urged his players to
take the game in a right way as they will be faced with a hectic fixture schedule after the Christmas break.
Laurentiis said, “Now we must face Roma and Genoa in the right way to end the year in the best way. After the break we will continue to think about the League, starting to play in the Coppa Italia and waiting for the Champions
League. Before that though we must recover the dropped points in the League because so far we have been distracted by Europe.”
Napoli are placed 5th in the Serie A table and they drift the top placed, Juventus, by nine points. Laurentiis has urged his team to recover the dropped points as they need to finish among the top three in order to keep
playing in the Champions League next season.
Asked on which team he would prefer to take on in the next round of the Champions League, Laurentiis insisted that he would be happy to draw any team because even a weak looking team can upset a top side on its day.
“I have no preference, for us everything is an experience. Even the weaker teams can become barriers, as was what happened yesterday in Novara.”
