  1. Bails of hay.  The kids can dry grass and bind it into tepee shaped stacks.

A pig pen.  The kids could use popsicle sticks to make the stye and they'd have fun making mud for it.   A pig or 2 could be rolling in it too.

  2. U could get some straw. and some old cardbord boxes and get the children to stick the straw to the box. ( wrap the boxes in yellow sugar paper or something first....

  3. This sounds like fun!

Here are a few ideas that should be easy to modify based on the size of your project.

Make some out buildings out of different sizes of card board boxes. Silos from paper towel tubes. Farm house from milk cartons. You can make a fence using craft/Popsicle sticks.

Maybe a small mirror or 2 for ponds. Brown or gold colored yarn can be made into bales of hay.  Green felt could be used for grass and pick up some small rocks from your area to add to your scene.

    Hope this helps some.

  4. make sure to dress the part!  Where some "country, farm" looking clothes

  5. If you go to a local feed store you could buy those miniature hay bails or they would probably let you grab some off the ground where they keep the hay, that would add great texture and depth to the setting.

  6. This sounds like a blast! Depending on how big it is, get some farm vehicles--model diecast or real(?) ones. Tractors, reapers, etc. Whatever would be appropriate for your farm. Also, since you probably are doing the whole farm theme, not only do the food as was suggested but have a barn dance with lots of music like The Farmer in the Dell. Maybe even some kids doing a square dance would be fun. Check out these links for other songs--

You might want to have some animal sound tape play in the background.

Other items you might want to include would be a milking stool and cane, a butter churner, garden tools, and a section with some crops and don't forget the scarecrow.

  7. Cook something that is typical of a farm and serve it!

Something like fresh cream and strawberries or something more typical.

Add 'farm like' conversation if possible. like a kid feeling excited when his pet ***** whelps!

All the best. Do let me know about the outcome!
