We need some help with campervan insurance

We are are DIY converting an old ambulance Renault Master into a campervan. Does anyone know of a specialist insurance company that might help us

Buy a classic car type magazine.  They always have loads of insurance companies that are specialist.

I'd avoid the 'regular' car insurance companies which offer insurance for classic/specialised cars.  My OH has an MG and he phoned one of these companies and the person in the call centre had no idea what an MG was!  As soon as he phoned a specialist, they practically told him all the ins and outs of his car and certainly knew their stuff.

Most insurance companies can classify a vehicle as either an antique vehicle of classic car but they want an appraisal done.  You have to pay for the appraisal.

Im guessing your in the UK from your nickname. i would suggest Norwich Union as a starting point. I would also recommend cherished cars if the vehicle is quite old.

You will probably find that any insurance company will want exact details of the changes you are making to the vehicle.

If that doesn't help maybe you could contact your local campervan club. I am sure the members would be able to help by giving ideas of who they insure with
