We need to build h**l on stage, can anyone help?

Question

Our chuch puts on a production every year called Fatal Exit. It's similar to Heavens gates h***s flames. We need to build heaven and h**l. I've looked online for ideas but keep coming up short.

We have about $2000 for the budget. Anyone have ideas?

Dummies on fire; Red paint; Fire; dead trees; red dusky sky;

Basically anything that has no life possessed in it.

Your budget should be enough to accomplish this...

Lots of red light, silk flames (they look like real flames but a whole lot safer!) which most lighting hire companies carry, lots and lots of smoke.  You can also get hand-held gas torches which extinguish if you let them go, so they're pretty safe, which could look cool.

If your going for the steriptypical h**l, then id say lots of red paint. Get bits of ripper red material and drape them about, it would look good with different materials, like sequined cotton and pvc, go for sharp looking things. Scatter broken hearts on the floor, like a red carpet, im assuming u can have fire on stage, so hire some of those flame look alike things, that are bits of light material with lights shining through them and fans blowing them up towards the ceiling. Not sure if that makes sence, but they do exist.
