The absolute best place in Mexico is the Riviera Maya at Bahia Princip resorts. It has amazing reviews and loads of activities - we are going there in five weeks!

I'm not sure what part of the country you'd like to stay in...Given the season and the holiday you may want to stay in Williamsburg or even Plymouth because they have huge fall festivals.  If you don't care about the actual holiday...my family and I stay at San Destin resort in Destin FL every year for thanksgiving.  There are very little crowds and the water is still warm.  We always enjoy this fall getaway.

I think you're meaning in Mexico, seeing as how this is posted in Cancun's category.

We stayed in the Riviera Maya at the Palladium, for our honeymoon.  It was a family resort as well, they keep the family's to one side of the resort and the honeymooners to the other.

Plenty of pools and activities.  Everyone spoke English.  It's gorgouse.

The Riviera Maya' only about 45 minutes down the coast from the Cancun airport.
