The stove weighs 1600 lbs, is 79" long, 57" wide and 90" high. We need to take to unit to Manitoba, Canada for warranty work to fix it. They will ship the unit back to us. We just need to get it up there from Michigan, in the U.S.

  1. Personally , You probably bought it from a dealer or broker in Michigan . I would ask him how he has it shipped to him and if it comes apart and he has to assemble it and ask if he will give you the boxes so you can send it for warranty work.

Your best bet would be to clean it ,  then disassemble it  if it can be and crate it up possibly in several boxes to spread the weight .

Then send it by trucking company . You will need to call the company again and ask them to talk to the shipping supervisor and ask what customs broker they use so you can call them and find out what you need to send it back for warranty work .

So it will clear customs at the border.

They can handle the rest to send it back.

If you are taking it yourself ?

Mostly you will need a big smile on your face and a lotta patience

You will need your passport or drivers license and birth certificate, mostly to get back home . Your sales receipt and warranty papers for customs and be prepared to stay for a couple of hours and to pay a custom broker for customs papers .

You will also need all the ownerships and insurance papers for the car and trailer .

I would use an open trailer so customs can inspect it easily and be sure all your lights work and your tires are in good shape because they sometimes check.

  2. You either need 1) a passport...or 2) Drivers License & Birth Certificate.
