We need to work hard to dismantle Pakistan, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Xavier-Ford-c60657 – Cricket News Update
Graham Ford, the Sri Lankan coach, believes that his team holds the advantage in the last Test of the three-match series against Pakistan at Pallekele, but is not ready to take the Green Shirts lightly.
At the close of play on day four, the visitors were leading by 188 runs with two wickets in hand, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 as favourites to dismantle Pakistan, which will result in their first series
victory since Muttiah Muralitharan’s retirement.
Ford expressed that his team is in a good position but believes that his side will have to play good cricket to outclass Misbah ul Haq and company on the last day of the series.
"It's fairly even," Ford said. "We are slightly ahead on points at this stage but there is a lot of cricket to be played tomorrow."
On the other side of the coin, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 will be looking to extend their lead on day five before they think to declare the innings. The Green Shirts have never lost a Test series under Misbah’s captaincy, and will do everything to
win the Pallekele fixture and even out the battle.
The South African rates the Pakistan team very high, which has been in great form in the recent times, but did not have a good time in the on-going tour, leveling the T20s, losing the ODI series and lagging behind in the longer version
of the sport as well.
Ford further added that his bowlers will have to dismiss the last two Pakistani batsmen cheaply to give their team a chance of chasing down the total against a formidable bowling attack.
"First, we have to get them out and that's going to be our No. 1 priority. Our players have a lot of respect for the game and for the quality of the opposition, so they know that they have to work hard tomorrow; nobody is starting
to think that the series win is guaranteed. Test cricket is about the hard work and the real challenge, and hopefully our boys will enjoy that challenge tomorrow," he added.
