  1. you dont need an europass for 2 reasons:

    - you can use eurorail pass for free only with Corail trains, so you need to pay an extra fee when you use TGV trains (abt 5 or 10 € I think) : from CDG or Paris to any Provence places, you'll have to use TGV.

    - if you only want to go to provence and come back, it's not so expensive as you need a pass.

if you want to know how much does it cost, go and see www.voyages-sncf.com

  2. There are plenty of French ppl who use the train without buying the Eurorail pass. Believe me, try to see more of a city/town and less time on the train.  Riding a train is tiring and gets old very quickly.  Only a few wide-eyed tourists are excited by train trips and they get tired of it too.  Also, pack light.  Many train stations there have no elevators/esclators and generally, there are no porters available (at any price).

  3. Items like the Eurail Pass make economic sense only if you intend make muiltiple trips in the time alloted for their use. Since you're apparently making only a single trip it would make no sense to buy a pass.

  4. You don't need a Eurorail pass, but it may save you money if you plan to do additional train travel.

Otherwise you can purchase the tickets online at www.voyages-sncf.com or at the train station at CDG.

  5. If the TGV (high speed) you will need to book a reservation on line
