  1. I’m not sure what your question is. Sellers can’t automatically be expected to know about mold. It’s one thing if a seller saw mold and intestinally covered it up (which is pretty tough to prove). It’s another entirely if they never realized it was an issue.

This is why you always want to have a professional inspection. If there truly were structural issues with an addition, and your inspector missed them, you can go back to the inspector and seek recourse. If the inspector pointed out the issues and you bought anyway or if you didn’t get an inspection, you accepted the house as it is and this is your problem now.

  2. Of course, make sure there's not a leak and you got rid of the source of the mold.

Check out the remarkable research on toxic mold removal done by environmental expert Dr Ed Close. Simply diffusing a therapeutic-grade essential oil regularly will likely result in an environment very hostile to mold.

Cost of the Thieves Household Cleaner, a diffuser and a couple bottles of the Thieves oil that Dr Close recommends to his remediation clients: about $250.

  3. What are you asking? How to get rid of mold? Check for water damage for one! Then you better call in a pro!
