We read about unemployment and recession....have any of you lost jobs because of recent economic trends?

We read about unemployment, recession, jobs being outsourced to India, and problems in Detroit with the decline in buying US cars....

1. Have any of you yahoo people lost jobs because of recent economic trends? What about your friends?

2. What state do you live in? [or country, if you're not in the US?]

3. If you have lost a job (and I'm asking in good faith, with compassion for you), then how are you dealing with it? [ie., are you planning to move or to stay where you are, and why? Ie., you own a home, have a family...whatever...]

I still have a job.  In fact, I have made a voluntary career change during these awful economic times.

I haven't lost my job, and while I know that economic trends have been tough, I really think that the media is magnifying the issue far too much. It's natural for the economy to have ups and downs, and it's no reason to panic.
