It was $18 per night "Bed Tax" on top of the room rate of $179.95

How can this be?

  1. I visited California last month and had a great time. I can't remember which hotel I stated at, but it wasn't worth recommending. I found a list of hotels in California here: http://www.hotelroomfinder.org/Californi... I'm sure you can find a hotel to call and help get you situated.

  2. It's a fee imposed by local governments, basically to make people pay who stay in a place for a night or longer, but don't live there. It is supposed to make visitors pay for local expenses, because they benefit from local infrastructure as well.

  3. How can it be? It's pretty standard. I've encountered the same thing in many places.
