  1. No they will go into the landfill with the cat litter.


  2. Some dumps do have automated recycling sorters and will pull recyclables from regular trash. Call your city waste management to find out what they do specifically (I don't recomend email, the point person usually doesn't know anything other than how to reply to email).  But typically they do not pull the type of plastic used in grocery bags and almost certainly not full/dirty bags.  You could feel good that the bag got a 2nd or 3rd use before it went into the landfill, or find other options that suit you better.

  3. Most plastic won't be pulled from the waste stream, that is why it's best to be sepatated and recycled by the consumer.

    Most recyclers will only take clean plastic.

    Best to use paper if you feel you have to put the litter into something.
