We start nil-all again here in Perth - Michael Hussey – Cricket News Update
As the Aussies gear up to face India in the Perth Test, veteran batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942 expects it to be a closely contested match, while also adding that his team is not thinking about a whitewash and will take the game as a nil-all affair.
The left-hander will be playing in front of his home crowd, and while all the talk in the Australian media concerns a 4-0 whitewash, Hussey himself has played down any such thoughts, suggesting that their opponents has a lot of experience to cope with the
situation they are currently in.
"We haven't spoken about that at all," Hussey said. "In Sydney we just tried to enjoy that amazing Test match and then, basically, close the door on that one and start afresh. We start nil-all again here in Perth. It's going to be a tough Test match. India
has got some great players, a lot of experience and a lot of pride.”
With an unassailable lead of 2-0, the Kangaroos have a realistic chance of clean sweeping the tourists given their recent record at Perth. The hosts won their only match of the last year Ashes showdown at this venue, despite losing the series 3-1 at the
hands of their bitter rivals http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013.
It was the heroic efforts of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RJ-Harris-c2330, who both took 6-wicket hauls in either innings, which paved way for an emphatic 267 runs victory.
However, they lost to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at the same venue three years back which forces Hussey not underestimate their opponents. Back then, the Men In Blue endured a similar pattern of their tour, losing the opening two games before fighting back strongly to claim
victory at WACA.
The left-hander therefore expects a strong contest between the two sides but hopes that his side prevails to start the New Year in style.
“They will take some confidence out of winning the last Test match between the two sides at this ground. But looking at our camp, we're an extremely determined camp as well,” added Hussey.
The eagerly awaited clash will commence on January 13th 2012.
