Out of all industrialized nations, we are #1 in:

-Highest infant mortality rates

-Shortest average lifespan

-Most wealthiest citizens in the world

-Most homeless

-Debtor Nation (1970 we were the biggest creditor nation)

-Importer of finished goods (1970 we were the highest exporter)

-Highest prison rate in the world

-Emitter of greenhouse gases

-Highest teenage pregnancies (#2 on abortion)

-Largest military

-Highest desparity of wealth

What can we do as citizens to change these statistics? Or should we even bother -- and just mind our own business in our own families?

  1. I would like to challenge:

    1. Highest infant mortality rate ( joke? )

    2. Shortest life span ( joke ? )

    3. Most wealthiest  ( Luxemburg )

    4. Emitter of green house gases ( China has become #1 just recently )

  2. We are not really an industrial nation any longer, we are a nation of service providers!  Our military is not as large as China's, they have a much larger pool of people to obtain troops than we do, so their military is larger than ours.  ALMOST all of our representatives in public office are wealthy & they have sold us down the river while we watched & did nothing!  The common man/woman cannot run for public office, we don't have the money to do so & most of us do not have wealthy friends to help us out or they would be running for office themselves!

We need to change the way campaigns are funded so that everyone has a chance, if they have the brains, to run for office.  Of course there would have to be a criteria for deciding who could run for public office. We couldn't have 50 million people running!  No private funding, government funding for campaigns. TV, radio & newspapers run free time/ads for each person in the campaign for public office, call it a public duty to the citizens of this nation.  Each person eligible to vote, should do so, don't leave it up to the other person!  For too long many of the people of this nation have not bothered to vote or they have voted for the wrong reasons!  When things go wrong, they sure like to gripe!  If we want to remain the home of the free & the brave then we have to start doing our part, each of us, for we are all family, the family of America! (If there are any errors in spelling, don't bother to point them out to me, I have used spell check, 2 different ones, each said there are no errors)!

  3. When you have a wealthy, unrestrained population in which people  can do as they d**n well please, isn't this what you would expect?

We gained our wealth by being a young country who's natural resources were many and not depleted, and we managed to sit back and profit while other countries were being destroyed by huge wars. This free and rich young country was not the best environment to bring forth angels.

  4. yes because we are the center of the world economy

  5. Solving the Prison system is literally, sending everyone who has a life sentence to one isolated island and leaving them there. then all the money that goes towards the prisons, could use to have low income housing for the homeless people ..

then we can stop the war on the poor and the war on the middle class!
