It is a good idea, Can it be achieved? It all depends on how much trust they both have in prospering together. In order to build a friendship like USA & UK, Pakistan need to improve financially. At present it depend more on aid from USA and other countries. It will not be in interest of India to have such friends. It is also disadvantage to have a neighbouring country that survives on aid. Other countries can use it to their advantage for spying, stopping the economic growth, inciting troubles among uneducated ethnic groups etc.

Its a very nice analogy to US-UK, definitely the day will come, provided our politicians stop using the ancient rivalry for their selfish reasons. Today many Indians share many common interests with pakistanis, especially the youngsters. Both india and pakistan has a lot to share. I hope the days of peace arrive sooner.

It would great to have peace in the region and surely with the level of intelligence in these countries people can see that the forces of division have selfish motives.  That these countries engage in war and attempt to kill each other shows the inherent weakness of men to overcome emotions and see through religious and political chicanery.

It is great idea. Only flaw is who will take the role of US and ask the other to take the role of UK..
