We want to adopt a baby/toddler. Has anyone used Parentprofiles.com?

I am seriously thinking about purchasing a ParentProfiles website. Has anyone trying to adopt used one of these ads? If so, would you recommend it? Thanks so much for your help.

Hi!

  I would check the company out completely prior to anything. Call the BBB, see if you can get references, etc. Adopting is alot of money and hate to see anybody go broke over a company that say....isn't legite. Know what I mean??

It is a very popular website, but how successful, I am not sure.  My suggestion is to email many of the families and ask them, or email the administrator of the website and ask about their "success" rate.

As an adoption professional, I have occasionally gone to the site to look for a particular family needed for a child I was placing.  If it not too expensive, probably couldn't hurt if you can afford it.  

If you are adopting a child of color, you might try PACT or Adoptions of the Heart, as well.

Parent Profiles is a legitimate site business wise and some have had good luck there. However they do not allow homosexuals to use their site and were sued for it. Last I heard they chose to not post profiles of Californians rather than allow homosexuals to post as per CA anti-discrimination laws. I am not sure what your feelings are on the subject but just letting you know.

Also, check your state laws. Some states, like mine, prohibit any kind of solicitation or profile posting and to do so could jeopardize an adoption.
