Question:

We want to hire a skip?

We want to hire a skip in order to put our garage in. To give you an idea of the size of the garage:

The garage is small - not big enough to put a car in, you can get a motorbike in it - just about.

It is a stone-like garage with little stone 'bobbling' on the outside. It is bolted together in strips. It is located in our small, terraced back yard.

We want to get rid of it and need to hire a skip. What size of skip do you think we'd need, and how much would it cost?

  1. 4 yard skip about £120 ;)

  2. Midi skip about £130

  3. Why not advertise the garage for sale.  It is a bolt together one and can easily be dismantled and transported away.

  4. For the size you describe it sounds like a mini skip would be big enough and the cost varies depending on where you live but between 70 and 80 I'd guess.Just a warning tho some of these panelled garages can contain asbestos sheets and if they do disposal of them can be costly as they need special care.

  5. Jesus, I would not order a skip if i were you. Instead of giving away money what dont you make money by selling the garage instead. Thats what i would dso anyway.

  6. I found a price of £39 plus VAT on a website called TopSkips.com and their website link is: http://www.topskips.com/ . They seem to be very popular in the UK. You might concider placing a add to give it away provided the person cleans up after removal. The material could be reused.

  7. Dont come unstuck on this one, alot of the time people say you will only need a mini skip. Mini skips are tiny and in the end you might end up having to book 3 mini skip that will cost more than highering a larger one. I would go for a 4 yarder which you are looking at £90.00. Having said that ask a friend or neighbour if the would be interesting in sharing a large maxi skip approx £130.00. If you have a nice driveway put some old carpet down for the skip to sit on.

  8. Sounds like a concrete sectional garage, with a pebbledash finish. http://www.comptonbuildings.co.uk/Garage...

Join Freecycle and advertise as free to dismantlers.
