Terming the Shere Bangla strip used for Wednesday’s encounter as a “difficult pitch”, Rahim reckoned they were 20 runs short of a par score.
“Difficult pitch, the set batsmen got out at the wrong time, we did not score big when the batsmen got set,” said the home skipper at the post-match presentation ceremony. “Not only Mahmudullah, there were others who played well but we were 20 runs short,” he went on to add.
The wicketkeeper batsman further said that a ball each end helped his bowlers against the dew, and hoped to make a strong comeback in the next match.
Dedicating his match-winning ton to his Prime Minister, Man of the Match Marlon Samuels said, “Not worried at all about running out of partners, it was a good team effort from our side. Experience in crucial situations helps as well and that is where I was able to pull it.”
