We were outplayed in the Ashes 2010-11, concedes http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Timothy-John-Nielsen-c94043 – Cricket News Update
Former Australian coach, Tim Nielsen, has admitted that his team was completely outplayed in the Ashes 2010-11 and said that the Australian team failed to perform consistently during the all-important series to regain the urn.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 defeated Australia by a massive margin of 3-1 in the last Ashes, which is considered to be one of the most important events in the game of cricket.
The Kangaroos have dominated the world of cricket in the last two decades, but the situation has changed quite drastically since in the last couple of years. The retirement of legendary fast bowlers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jason-Neil-Gillespie-c66461 and one of the greatest
spin bowlers of the history of the game, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672, has meant that Australia is left with a weakened bowling attack now. The young Australian bowlers have failed to dismantle the oppositions twice in Test matches.
Nielsen feels that his team started off well in the series as they performed in the first Test match at Brisbane, but failed to continue with the good work later on in the series.
He said, “We got outplayed. We pretty much dominated the first four days in Brisbane. We got outplayed in Adelaide and the game was almost over before it started for us. We went to Perth and played really well, when Johnson and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RJ-Harris-c2330 got nine wickets
each.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RT-Ponting-c2377 was replaced as the captain
of the national team by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978.
Nielsen, who decided to call it a day during the recent tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, hopes that the new captain will not ignore his batting, while worrying about all the other factors as a captain.
“His biggest challenge will be to make sure he keeps his mind on his batting as well. There's so much going on with the team at the moment, so many distractions, and as a first-time captain of the Australian team full-time, he's going to have so much to
do around the place,” Nielsen added.
