Malaga boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Pellegrini, has stated that his side will not encounter Anderlecht in a relaxed manner in the Champions League tonight.
Malaga have been the surprise package in Europe this season. They have already assured themselves a place in the knock-out stages and still have one game in hand.
The former Villarreal tactician has said that tonight’s match with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 side is of paramount importance because of its economic value.
Pellegrini also made it clear that he doesn’t want to lose this match and wants to qualify from the group undefeated.
“This game is important, from an economic point of view and because we want to go undefeated.”
The former Real Madrid boss insisted that his side will not take the game lightly. They will do their all and try to get all the three points as he simply doesn’t want to lose.
“We will not be relaxed, because you always come out onto the field to play for something, and anyone wanting to lose does not belong in the sport.”
Moreover, the Chilean was reluctant to admit that maybe now the Andalusian’s focus will be on the Primera Division. Their form in the domestic league has not been good and last week it was another disappointing result as they lost 1-0 to Getafe.
The 59-year-old is of the belief that his team approaches and shows the same attitude in all competitions.
“Tomorrow is a different game, against a team with extensive Champions League experience. There is not much difference between the Malaga of the Champions League and that of La Liga.”
Finally, Pellegrini is expected to feature defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oguchi-Onyewu-c28332, in the Champions League tonight. He admitted the player has taken sometime to settle in and now it time for him to prove his worthy to the club.
“He’s a player who has taken a few months to settle in. He will have to prove himself on the field, that’s the best way to do it.”
Malaga’s defeat to Getafe on the weekend means they have been knocked off of the much coveted fourth spot for the Champions League. They are currently sitting on the 5th position and three points behind fourth-placed Real Betis.
