Question:

We worry about the coming storm in the matter of civilian safety, but what about the military safety?

We get warnings and exercise many margins of safety, and that's good when it comes to saving lives. why are we ok with letting our boys, and now girls to be subjected to the wrath of such primitive and mostly ignorant illiterate cruel persons. Persons that strap bombs to their kids, and think that's Allah's design. We fight them under their rules of engagements, that includes them hitting, then running under cover of women and children. The Russians blow up civilians, and not a word of protest from the bleeding heart liberals that are the cause of our no-win situation in the mid-east.

  1. You can't blame "bleeding heart liberals" for the so called no-win situation in the Middle East.  There are very few people on any part of the political spectrum in the US who would advocate a no holds barred approach to Iraq.

Massacring Iraqis would not work very well and is actually counterproductive.  GEN Petraeus outlined how to fight a counter insurgency and nowhere in it did he advocate what you appear to be.

  2. the major similarity between the people of America back in the 40's when we faced war and now, is about the same. We were fat, dumb, and happy back then, as we are now. The second we were told of declared war, we changed gear and went to common diligence of effort to defeat the enemy, and had no trouble calling and identifying them. The war news reporters were not sipping tea with the identified enemies. Within a short time after the war began, the French, and Italians formed resistence to the Axis and joined us to defeat the enemy. Wars are not conceived by the common everyday working people, it has almost always been the conception of self-centered mind bending groups, with goals unlike the common peaceful man. Sure America had them too, but we had control over them, by laughing at them,  till  they went somewhere else

  3. It goes beyond what liberals might think. Hearken back to September 11, 2001 and the days after. Try to recall the percentage of air time and news focus devoted to the attacks on the two towers full of civilians in lower Manhattan and contrast that with the coverage of the attack on the Pentagon. Look at all of the telethons, concerts and media appeals for various charities after these attacks. Three are missing from the lists. All of the lists. They are the Army Emergency Relief Fund, the Air Force Aid Society and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. Three charities which were assisting the victims and the families of the dead in the Pentagon before the Red Cross even got their pants on!

Think back one day before the attack on America and try to recall the concern for the men and women in uniform that is now being displayed by the "Petey Patriot Platoon" with their flag-waving cheerleading and their incessant "thank your for your service" mantra. It was non-existent on September 10, 2001. Focus on the concern the members of the "Bleeding Heart Brigade" had for 7,500 men and women who died on active duty in the eight years prior to the attack on America. It, too, was non-existent.

Meanwhile, the civilian populace has gone back to sleep. Look around at the folks in a shopping mall. Totally unaware of their surroundings or any potential threat near them. When the storm comes the only anatomical part which will survive in that crowd will be the pointing finger of blame.

  4. I think people are more cautious about addressing the Russia-Georgia situation because Russia is a much more formidable enemy. If the Ruskies want to bring on the Cold War sequel, I'll be ready for that.

No one has to "let" me fight for what I believe in. I chose to. People that advocate  using women and children as bombs and attack our country are inherently evil and are a threat to my family's existence.

The military is doing a better job of getting us the equipment we need for the "War on Terror". Fatalities are down and the Iraqi people are running their own missions in most areas now. I haven't been to Afghanistan, so I don't feel qualified to comment there.
