India’s legendary batsman, Rahul Dravid, has come out in defence of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028’s captaincy and feels that the wicketkeeper/batsman should be given the benefit of the doubt because of India’s impotent bowling attack.

A number of sporting experts have slammed Dhoni’s lacklustre approach and feel that his defensive tactics led to India’s downfall. Many former cricketers have called for the wicketkeeper/batsman to be replaced as the Test captain.
However, Dravid, while speaking exclusively to ESPNcricinfo, expressed that India have struggled in the bowling resources recently, which did not make things easy for Dhoni, who had to set defensive fields in order to prevent a brisk run-rate.
The former cricketer believes that a captain is as good as the team and feels that bowlers have let Dhoni down recently.
“When [http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 are] fielding, you can obviously see the difference because on the field is where you've got to manage that bowling attack,” he said. “And when you don't have the necessary skills with the bowling attack, you can start looking a bit defensive, a bit flustered, bit rattled and start looking around for answers.”
Dravid himself retired from international cricket earlier this year, following the two disastrous tours, although the right-hander did a brilliant job in England, where the rest of the batsmen struggled.
The former India captain is of the opinion that calmness has been the key behind Dhoni’s success over the years as he does not get fazed by different situations.
“Otherwise he's been pretty similar and that's been one of his strengths - his ability to stay balanced even through the highs and lows of Indian cricket, to be able to manage and stay in a cocoon, and not get too affected by what's happening around him,” the former captain mentioned.
Dhoni has a great chance of regaining some confidence as India take on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 in a four-match Test series at home, which commences from November 15.
