Question:

Weak ground?

my ground is short and thick enough but i feel my amp is not pushing anywhere near the power it should....i grounded in the rear behind a panel near the rear speaker to an already installed bolt...would i do better to use the metal below the seat?

  1. be sure to check and make sure that all the paint is off the panel ,if it is'nt u will not have a very good ground, this could be ur problem,if it is try to move it to another spot and try it.


  2. I would look to see what the bolt you are using as a ground goes into. Some bolts go into small sections of metal, therefor you wouldn't have enough surface area for the ground to provide full power. If the bolt does go into a large area of metal, try sanding the area below the bolt that the ground touches. The cleaner the connection, the better it will work. If you need a new spot for a ground, check under the carpet in your trunk or behind your pedals. I used the seat bolt as a ground once, and whenever i moved the seat forward or back, it created friction which somehow gave power to the Neons I had, and turned them on randomly.
