Question:

Weaning 9 month old baby?

I am currently trying to wean my 9 month old son. He has four teeth and is now stating to bite me and grind them into me and its very painful at times. I am trying to supplement formula, but he only drinks 4 oz and it takes him all day. He doesn't have much interest in a bottle. I'm concerned he will never wean. I don't know how I'm suppose to wean him, especially from the night feedings. Can anyone help me? Please don't say that he is too young to wean, or he needs it until he is 1, He will be getting formula until he is a yr old.

  1. first things first i'm not saying starve him. fill half his bottle with formula and the other with breast milk. if he wont take the bottle hold off on feeding him and he'll evenutally take the bottle when he's hungery enough

  3. normally babys dont wean on there own before 12 months

babys can't bite while they are actively nursing (it would require them to bite off there tongue), I would recommend watching for the baby to unlatch then take him off the breast before he bites.

your local le leche league can help check the website for a group in your area

BTW formula goes bad after about 1 hour, if you baby hasn't finished it before then throw it out
