my baby is 7 months and i cook his food fresh and then freeze it in either ice cube trays or in small pots, when we are at home or Nanny's house i just put it in the microwave and are good to go but what if we are out and a bout and there is no microwave. Do you defrost the food before you go out and keep it in a chill bag and serve it cold, i am worried about bacteria if it is kept already cooked, he is at the min having fruit and veg but i am now going to start giving him white fish and chicken have you any ideas how to carry then food

  1. you can get a thermal bag. Avent make them and they're in most supermarkets and places like mother care. They'll keep your babies food chilled if you put it in the bag just before you go out.

Likewise, they'll keep things hot too!! It's basically a thermos flask in the form of a small shoulder bag

  2. With my son I just got it out the freezer about an hour before we left home and then by the time he was ready for it it would be defrosted and all i would have to do was warm it by standing it in a jug of hot water.

  3. depending on where i'm going and what he's having i either bring it with me completely frozen and ask wherever i'm having a meal, coffee, snack... to defrost it. most places are happy to help.

if he's having his lunch about an hour after we leave the house then i just heat the frozen food until it's piping hot and by the time it's time to eat, it's usually at just the right temperature.

  4. what about investing in a baby thermal flask cook the food first, and put it into the baby flask to keep it warm my daughter uses these all the time you can also get them as little dinner plates you fill up the bottom with hot watter.
