im a guest at a wedding this weekend. i plan on wearing a 'simple' black dress. its sleeveless, but NOT spaghetti straps. its cut a little above the knees. from the waist down, the dress is pleated.

i think the dress is cute, but is it appropriate to wear balck to a wedding??? i was going to dress up the outfit with a pair of gold shoes & gold accessories. simple hair & make up.

P.S. i found out the colors for the bridal party dresses are white & black.

HELP! i dont want to look like a fool...

  1. Black is fine

  2. Nowadays, you can wear any color to a wedding except for white.

  3. It depends on the time of the wedding, Outside during the day it might be too harsh. But evening weddings are o.k. But never wear black to an Italian wedding. It would be disrespectful

  4. h**l ... I wore a black gown to my wedding ... and I didn't have s*x before... virtue and black ... who'd of thought ... anything is fine as long as it's not S****y or out does the bride.

  5. Yes just make sure the shoes or acessories are not black too.

  6. just don't wear white. wear your little black dress and have colour in it, like a colourful handbag

  7. You can wear a black dress, its not "inappropriate"  The whole thing about wearing black to a wedding is bad, thats ridiculous

  8. Yeah, thats fine. I always see women wearing black dresses at weddings.

  9. The only color that would be ridiculous to wear is white. Black is fine, especially if its a night-time wedding.

  10. black is fine if you are consred call her up and ask the bride

  11. When I was about 9 or 10 I was going to a wedding and wanted to wear this pretty lilac dress, only my mother told me that he bridal party's dresses were the same color so I shouldn't wear it. That really would be the only reason I'd say no the the black dress. Other then that I'd see no problem with it.

  12. Well had I not been asked to be a bride's maid I would have worn a Civil War style widow's dress complete with veil to a friend's wedding just to show my disapproval.  However, I would not wear black, it sounds pretty but I don't think it is exactly the look you want.
