Question:

Wearing makeup for a 14 year old?

I'm 14, with blotchy yellow-toned skin.

My mother, a few months ago, told me that before entering HighSchool, said I would be allowed to wear makeup, such as foundation, et cetera.

Today because classes will start in about 2 weeks,I asked her.

And she promptly responded she said nothing of the sort[not in those words, she apparently didn't do very well in Grammar class(my own isn't that great either), as well as morality].

I am very sensitive about my looks, and by past experiences, my complexion looks quite nice with a bit of concealer and foundation.

How should I convince her otherwise?

-----

And, if you may,how to respond to her constant lying? I've gotten quite used to it, but it is tiresome, and it makes my father quite irritated[Examples would include the 56 times she repeatedly said she would stop smoking that year(I counted), saying that she didn't steal my money from chores and work(I found it hidden in a book of hers), and countless others.].

  1. tell her that it would make you feel better about your looks and that you wouldn't wear too much and look like a sl*ut.

  2. Well hun,

tell yurr mom that yuu dont like her lying about things, make her wright what she says you can do and make her sign it in pen. and keep it safe too where she cant find it..

and about the make up tell her and show her that your maturing into a beautiful young woman, and that you would love to start wearing make up too define your perfection. (say define your perfection, it works on my parents every time)

  3. yeah my mom was the exact same way about makeup. so what i did was  since i got home before all of them i would just wear it to school and take it off before any one got home. then one day she called me at school and insisted that she come pick me up so i tried to go the bathroom and wash it off with just water. well needless to say it didn't come off very well so she found out what i'd been doing. she got mad and grounded me for like a week. one day i had to get some shots which she knows i hate so usually she'll take me to my favorite lunch place after, but that one time she just out of the blue offered to take me to ulta and get this really cheap makeup kit that had like everything in it. moms are weird and unpredictable, id say just wait it out, or do what i did and sneak it behind her back haha

  4. I would ask her to go with you and have a professional show you a great natural look and you both can talk about your concerns and issues and they can design a look for you.

buh dont wear it unless its necessary..guys like wen u look natural.

  6. dont wear makeup until you actually have too....

  7. Tell her your rather insecure about your skin. And you would feel better wearing a little makeup. Or tell her a lot of people your age wear makeup.

  8. well that suck! u should be able to do what ever to your own body=)

ps: thanks for the points =P

  9. She sounds a bit troublesome but a little bit of conceler and foundation never hurt anyone!

Ive worn makeup since i was 12..parents never told me i could and they never told me i couldnt. I just did my own thing.

    Do your own thing,

    Its your face not hers

  10. sit down and have a heart to heart with her. Let her know you are not going to wear a ton of makeup, all you are looking for is simple foundation.  Bare Minerals (from Sephora) is great for evening out complextions.  AND it's 100% natural earth minerals so it will not irritate your skin or clog your pores. It also contains natural spf 15, so you are also protecting your face from harmful uva and uvb rays.  Best of luck!

  11. say "When did u start to wear makeup?'

Don't you want me to be more confident?

  12. just wear it, its up to you what you look like and what makeup you wear. your mum and dad will get used to it soon, and if wearing makeup makes you more confident in yourself, go for it :)
