Wearing rubber bands?

So I have brace and have had them since the end of my. I just had rubber bands added to my joyous experience. I am wondering if it matters if I use the same rubber band more than once? My teeth don't seem to hurt as bad in the morning if it is the band's second go round, but don't get me wrong they're still sore. Any thoughts are helpful!

  1. Always get new rubber bands

If you use the same one it will get stretched and worn and will not work which means you will have to keep those awesome things on your teeth longer!

    CHANGE THEEMMMM

  2. The bands don't feel as bad because they're stretched out. Pain means it's working. Sorry you hurt. Better than having crooked teeth.

  3. change them for sure. after they have been on your teeth they eventually lose alot of their strength. make sure you allways wear them. i didnt wear them and i had to have my braces on for an extra two months

  4. u probably need to wear a new set every night. they will get stretched out even after the first use!!

  5. In my opinion, since I'm having it, you can use them again if you want. But I recommend you to change to new ones because they would be more clean and would make your teeth in place faster. Think about this, if you wear it the second time, the bands are already quite loose, so that would slow the process down a little. Even though it hurts, change to new ones. =)

  6. You shouldn't reuse them.  They will lose their effectiveness.  One thing you can do at your next orthodontist appt. is mention the pain and whether or not a different size band would work.  If you continue with your bands though, you should get used to them.

  7. been there, and so were all my siblings, and we used the bands over and over again until they broke. of course i did a slightly different thing than my siblings with the bands, which actually helped me get my braces off in record time and caused me to not have to wear the stupid bands throughout the day. i doubled up the bands at night. sure my jaw was a little tightened and sore in the morning, but it worked a lot faster!

  8. If it's not broken your good

  9. you will have to wear them longer if you dont switch them out

    trust me change them

it will hurt worse but thats because its working

its not hurting as much for you because the elastic is stretched out and it wont work as well on the problem you are trying to fix

trust me i feel your pain i have to wear them too

    good luck :D

    hope you feel better

  10. I'm on my first set of rubberbands too!  I think that when you use them for a while, just dump it!  Over time, they will get too stretched, and if you keep using them, they won't be able to pull as effeciently as if they were fresh from the bag.  Hope this helps!
