is it true that wearing smaller cleats make a person run faster?

I was watching a Rays baseball game the other day and they said Cliff Floyd was wearing Carl Crawford's cleats, which were a size to small, because Crawford told him it would make him run faster. They said (the announcers) that alot of track and field stars do this.

Does anyone know if its true?

  1. mmhmm. Deefiinattely. Try it.

  2. it makes ur feet hurt

  3. I don't think its true. Whats the difference between smaller shoes and biggers shoes? They're bigger but I don't think It'll do anything with running.

  4. no

  5. I don't know about smaller, but what I do is basically strip the cleat. Take out the pad on the inside and replace it with a lighter 1, replace the laces with lighter ones, take out any unneeded weight. I just did that so I could run as fast as I could with my shoes off.

  6. It could be true but wouldn't it hurt and give you blisters? It just wouldn't be worth it to me, that's one thing I cannot stand is sore feet.
