Wearing spectacles?

I am male, 43. I have longsight,for I use spectacles of bi-focal lense. Is it necessary/advisable for me to wear specs always, or only at the time of reading?

Why dont you do one thing. Instead of a bi-focal glass why dont you make separate glasses for long and short distance. Always wear your long distance glasses. Try to make your short distance glasses slim and delicate which can easily fit in your pocket. Whenever necessary you can take it out and wear it. By this you will feel more comfortable also.

The idea of the bifocal is so you don't have to take them off if you don't want to, so your reading correction will always be there when you need it.

It is entirely up to you if you want to wear them or not. Just wear them when you need them is the best way to use glasses.

Only when you read,  your eyes get accustomed to those specific lenses,  after awhile and then you will actually have to always wear them for you to see properly.
