Weather concerns at Doncaster clouds the chances for Sea Moon at Ladbrokes St Leger

Just on Friday, ahead of the Ladbrokes St Leger the chances for Sea Moon were almost as bright as the sunlight itself but they soon started to faint away when the ground conditions were brought under consideration.
The concern has led to doubts regarding his deliverance at the race.
He started making his Doncaster credentials get noticed with an eight length win in the Great Voltigeur and due to that he was the most desired in the market nearly ever since 17th August, 2011. Sir Michael Stoute is not really famous for being
abundant with the Leger.
Even his most fancy runners use to disappoint him when it came to a Leger and he had to settle for second on three occasions this century before Conduit finally set the record straight in 2008.
There has hardly been any doubt on his form because the light racing horse has a pedigree for a mile and six furlongs on Town Moor and he most definitely is believed to be in an incredible form after thundering through eighth lengths clear in the Great Voltigeur
Stakes at York.
Besides this his health has been reported to have been fit too. This time to race for the wire he has got Frenchman Olivier Peslier with him who has been termed as ‘king of the big occasion’ and would ride him due to the absence of Ryan Moore.
All the above factors go in his favour besides just the weather which is not exactly certain. It has not rained heavily or even reasonably since Wednesday and even the forecast predicts only a little rain which would leave the ground good, good to firm in
places.
The situation with the rain is not what the connections of Sea Moon were hoping for as this three year old is not experienced on going firmer than good and till yet has shown his best on ground with cut in it.
This Leger has been recognized as one of the most competitive that the horses and the jockeys have had in recent years. Stoute said:
“Sea Moon is a horse that we’ve always enjoyed and rated and we went to York hopeful for the Great Voltigeur but didn’t expect him to win in the manner that he did, “He’s got a proper Leger pedigree, his three-parts brother (Brian Boru) won the race so you’d
be hopeful that stamina wouldn’t be a problem”.
Having way more in favour than just the weather condition should not hamper the colt’s performance at the tracks and it would really be something to see if he falls prey to the drawback or gains through the factors in favour.
