Question:

Weather help from Miami locals?

Is it dangerous to fly into Miami this week, specifically to the Beach, on the account of Fay and whatnot? I know it's been raining, but, say, I have an umbrella. Any other dangers? Are there predictions of a hurricane?

Miami people only, please. I, too, have access to a weather report from across the country.

Thanks for your help.

  1. Well Gustav is on its way, but personal I would fly out anyway.

  2. Not at all.  Fay is long gone.  It rains in general most afternoons during the summer time anyway, but nothing to worry about with a little rain.

  3. Nahh. You should come Fay is long gone! There may be a tropical storm coming but not for a while. Just don't expect the Beautiful Miami Weather everyday. I mean don't get me wrong the weather is great but It may rain some days

  4. We are in our typical summer weather pattern which generally means hot and muggy for most of the day and storms/rain in the afternoon. Not every afternoon, but chances of rain nearly everyday. The good thing is the rain doesn't last very long and it quickly turns muggy again. Come on down!

  5. Fay is long gone.  We received very little effects from Fay in Miami.  Gustav is on the way but will stay to the South of us.  Miami's climate is sub-tropical monsoon.  So this time of year we regularly get soaking thunderstorms in the afternoon, these are generally fast moving and short lived.  I suspect as Gustav moves away from us, it will take away a lot of the energy from the atmosphere over us, so the weather is going to be cloudless skies and very hot!

I hope you enjoy my beautiful city and please remember our sunlight is probably more intense than you are used to because of our geographic position (closer to the equator) wear sunblock at all times and please please please drink lots of water before you get thirsty.
