Weather in Punta Cana?

I'm off to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic on Monday and am getting a little concerned over the 10 day weather forecasts which all suddenly seem to be forecasting thunderstorms from the moment I arrive. Coming from the UK, which has the most depressing, dreary wet weather on the planet, I'm desperate for some sunshine. Does anybody know what the weather is typically like, ie when it rains is it a day long deluge like we get in the UK or it is isolated downpours? I was really looking forward to this holiday and now I'm just depressed!

They have a beautiful weather!!! the rain usually lasts 1 hour MAX...... temperature between 75 to 85 degrees C. very breezy, around this time of the year, the temperature at night it's around 68 -75 degrees, If you want take a little jacket just in case..... ENJOY YOUR TRIP!!!!

Normally the isolated showers are not lasting long (10 to 15 min max.) and then SUN again! Don't worry about the weather, just enjoy your trip and don't forget to discover this beautiful country, don't stay in the golden jail hotels of Punta Cana!. Happy to help you
