what's the Weather like in Scotland and Ireland during August??? I'll be going on vacation with my family from August 9th-24th, so I was wondering what temperature it would be (highs and lows) what the climate will be like (dry heat, etc.) and what would be wise to pack.

thanks!

  1. August is normally a good month in both so t shirts shorts jeans etc should be fine.Take a waterproof jacket cause its bound to rain at some point and a couple of sweaters for the chillier evenings. Also get some insect repellent if u going into countryside cause u might get midge bites. They wont do u any harm just really itchy for a day or so.have a great holiday

  2. The trouble with anywhere in the British Isles is that you practically have to prepare for 4 seasons in one day!

I was in Scotland last summer and it was like November, so a waterproof coat is a must, a couple of jumpers, a hat (for fine or bad weather), shorts, t-shirts, plus long trousers and decent boots or shoes if you're going walking.

It might not hurt to pack your swimmers too because I've also been up there in the summer and it's been like the Mediterranean............you just never know!

    Have a great holiday - I'm envious - I wish I was going.
