Every website i look on says something different. people say its REALLY hot - sometimes 40-45 degrees Celsius.

but i looked at what the weather was last year in July and it was mostly in the 30's.

what will Granada be like in July? I am going for 32 days. will i get a bad sunburn? i have very fair skin. im pale.

Also - my spanish teacher said she went last year and had to wear a jacket. so im very confused.

  1. I live near Granada and I don't care what you've heard. Believe me, Granada will have intense heat in July. I live in the mountains and in July at night the temperature can be 25c - 27c at 2am.

  2. Keep a jacket with you for the evenings.  Granada is in the mountains, and will cool off dramatically at night.  We were there in June last year, and didn't actually NEED a jacket, but then, we are used to much cooler than most...daytime temperatures were NO WHERE NEAR 40º C.  That would have been Seville.  Not that hot in Granada, but hot in the day times, and cooler at night.

Actual temps?  I couldn't help you.  But bring sunscreen and re-apply every two hours.  And when I say sunscreen, I mean pretty strong stuff is in order, for any of Andalucía and the Mediterranean coast.  We burned badly in Barcelona on the beach, because we didn't re-apply.
