  1. The typical weather patterns until October in Cancun are hot days and then a storm will boil up in the afternoon and rain for an hour or two.  This weekend, Gustav will bring the outer bands of rain to Cancun probably lasting all day.  Then Monday, it will go back to the pattern of pop-up afternoon rains.

  2. HI...Well first Cancún is in a tropical climate so year round in Cancún the temperatures are on average 90 degrees Fahrenheit everyday during the day and at night it never gets below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The next two weeks will be just like any other...beautiful and warm. Although I do have to mention right now there is a possible hurricane that is threatening Cancún. It should arrive late Saturday (Aug. 30) and Sunday Aug. 31 and will bring lots of rain, wind, and rough seas. By Monday morning though it will be gone and clear skies will be back. The only reason the forecast is calling for rain is because of this possible Hurricane Gustav. It's only a tropical storm right now, but it will become a hurricane again soon.  So, yes it will be rainy all day for mostly Saturday and Sunday. Normally when it rains it's only for at most 20 mins. and usually the sun is out when it rains in Cancún. Being in a tropical climate and on the warm waters of the Caribbean and the high levels of humidity there are always a chance of sun showers. I go to Cancún several times a year (own a condo there) and stay for a week at a time and everytime I go it only rains once the whole week and it's never more than 20 mins. of rain and the sun is always out when it rains. It's know as sun showers. But yes, generally it doesn't rain very often and the climate is beautiful. Always warm and nice. So, after Sunday (because of this storm) it will be back to normal and beautiful again and for the rest of your two weeks it will be like heaven on earth. Blue skies, turquoise blue waters, white sand. It's heaven on earth. Have fun! Cancún is the jewel of the Caribbean.
