We are thinking of taking a family vacation to the Atlantis the week between Christmas and New Years. Should the weather be warm enough to swim, use the water slides, etc or should we go at a different time? Thanks!

  1. You will avoid rain more than most months, but yes, it will be a bit cool for swimming that time of the year. We went to Cancun last February when it is about 4 degrees warmer than the Bahamas in December. We were able to swim OK, although it was cool enough that it took some time to get used to it.

  2. You can check this link for previous weather history. Click on trip planner, enter destination and your dates.

It's a tricky week to travel because it's winter on the northeast coast of USA and Bahamas is pretty close. If a cold front comes through the weather will not be as warm to swim.

Anytime after March is better and warmer. Personally, April, May and June are my favorite months to travel to the Bahamas.

    Enjoy)

  3. yeah jan is usually alot cooler especially the mornings and evenings and when a cold front is right there. take a few jumpers

  4. You risk a cold front and some cooler weather.. which happens quite often this time of year.

If swimming is on the agenda.. go further south or wait until Spring
