I planned to go out with my friends, we would meet up at Melbourne central.

at 12 and would end at 4pm.

We've heard tones of stories of wild weather, should we really be going?

Is there going to be hail ?

Is it even safe to go outside now?

Will there be thunder and lightning?

Oh we're so scared, we dont even know where to start!

PLEASE ANSWER

Much appreciated

  1. No you shouldn't be going.

There's things falling everywehre, you could get hurt.

Yes, possibly hail and definetly rain.

They've told us, do not go into the city, unless you extremly need to.

    But I'd recommend not to.

    It's difficult to drive.

And trains and trams will be packed.

  2. That day with the wild wnd you mentioned was NUTS. I work in one of the very tall towers in Melbourne and there were all sorts of things flying around outside my office window. Rubbish, birds, paper, ewoks.

It was not normal weather though! I mean, Melbourne weather is unpredictable but not usually that unpredictable!

  3. OMG!!!!

    How bad was it today?

I'm not usually scared of wind, but the winds today were terrifying.Especially the dust storms.

I was putting my grocery's in the car at the shopping center when the wildest wind happened.

My advice is to stay indoors and watch a movie.

    Stay safe!!!

  4. Scared?

Of some water falling from the sky?

    Lightning won't hit you.

  5. Ummm ... Its already 4:30pm here in Melbourne, so I think you have missed your planned times already.

I don't think there is all that much danger to you, but you may find the weather will inconvenience you. I have heard that some train services have already been cancelled, and if you are planning on travelling by car the Bolte and Westgate Bridges are currently running at reduced speed limits and may soon be closed.

Should you be scared? No, I don't think so. Would I go into the city if I didn't have to? No.

  6. lol

i was in melbourne central at that time too.

    i know its over now.

but it was freaky a bit..but its okay.

  7. lol i went to melbourne central today

well yeh the wind is crazy

but not so much in the city

i did nearly get swept off my feet when i was walking to clifton hill station

i would just take the train to melbourne central; this way you wont have to go outside and you can go to myer and not have to go outside

maybe get a lift to and from the train station

i would go, dont stay cooped up inside your home; get out there have fun

and dont worry about melbourne central losing power; it didnt today so it shouldnt tomorrow

(alot of shopping centres did today)

    have fun :)

oh and see never back down it's a good movie lol

  8. Na dont go i went there today it wasnt very good it was raining and everything, but i guess melbourne central is mostly inclosed but you have to go on the roads somtime's to go through myer so it might be alright :)
