  1. Hurricane season is actually from June 1 to December 1.

Obviously, if there have been recent storms during that period the seas may be rough.  If there haven't been any recent storms the seas will be much more calm.

The roughest seas I have ever experienced was mid December on a cruise from NYC to the Bahamas, but midway down the Atlantic coast everything calmed down.

  2. I have cruised 2 the Caribbean multiple times, so I can answer this pretty well. Hurricane season in the Caribbean is November to either April or May, so I would say summer is probably when the seas are least rough. You might fry in the heat, tho. Put on sunscreen! No matter when you go, have a great time!!! :-)

  3. im leaving next month. I heard out of NYC it will always be rough. I dont care. Shake rattle and Roll! (It wont last)

  4. Per the National weather center the hurricane season is from mid June to the end of November. However rough seas really don't start until Mid August. As we all know Katrina happened August 23rd. Since the winter water is rough of the New york Coast I would assume your best set would bet mid May to Mid June. If you do take a cruise let me know how it works out because I too would like to take the NY cruise. I have been on several Caribbean cruises but all were out of Florida or New Orleans (prior to Katrina) In April - June the water is generally very calm n the Caribbean.
