Question:

Web Design - Best Software For Free Or Cheap?

In your opinion, what's the best and easiest software for designing websites? I'm on a limited budget, and have limited HTML and CSS knowledge, so something WYSIWYG would be great. I currently use Yahoo Site Builder, but I'd like software which allows me to build websites for others, as well. I already looked at Dreamweaver, but that sucker comes with an $1800 price tag...yikes!

  1. Hey, i know of this product.: Ready Made Joomla. It basically provides ready made sites in a package. You might find some help from here:

    http://readymadejoomla.com/product.htm

  2. If you have some HTML and CSS knowledge, I'd suggest expanding on it and learning to write all your own code. That way, you won't be tied to any one piece of software. You can use any text editor. I'd recommend Notepad ++ (it's free). Writing your own code will also give you a better understanding of how your site works, and how to change it to suit your needs.

  3. Try Weebly or Blinkweb, their easy to manage free website (or blog) has cool features that include drag and drop capability, switch designs on the fly, youtube and google video, custom html, upload images, flikr photo gallery, visitor stats and more.  You can also buy a new domain instantly, or host your existing domain for free and make it your own (www.yourown.com)

If your looking for something more advanced but still user friendly then try CityMax or Site Builder Designs, they have everything you need in building your own website: domain name registration or domain transfer, web hosting, web builder, site maintenance and email accounts. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow step by step instruction. Some of the features included enable you to add your own themes, videos, images or mp3 music making your site unique to you. Pricing is comparable and affordable too.

I hope that I was of some help and answered your question.
