Web cam built into laptop

i have a aspire 5920 laptop with a web cam built into it, but yet when i try to get online and use it i get a thing sayin there is no web cam on my divice. what do i do? i've downloaded all the stuff that it said download, my laptop didnt come with any cd's. please help!!
