Web cams..........?

i need to set a web cam and view the footage away from the house in which the web cam is set up in. can it be done? if so can you tell me how to do it and what i need.

well, first question: Do you have a mac or a pc. With a pcit can be done. First, i have the 'creative' software. it has an option in which you can record everything that the webcam is seeing, and then it will alert the computer if there is a disturbance in the setting. Yes, it can be accessed from another computer if set up correctly.
