Web design jobs in Oz hard to come by!?

Hi - Anyone else having problems getting a non casual job in Oz? I'm a Web Designer back home and was hoping to do the same here in Oz but no one will hire me because I'm on a 1 yr working holiday visa. I get a call after i submit my resume and they review it but as soon as they discover I have a WHV its game over.

I fully appreciate where they are coming from, backpackers have a bad rep in Oz, whats to stop me from leaving the company after I get 3 months wages. This is not the case though as I would stay for the 6 month max with the company and hopefully longer if one was to sponsor me. Anyone else having trouble getting their foreign foot in the door?
