Web designing/developing?

Question

My husband and I are planning to create a small business in web developing/designing.

Since I have the analytical mind- I would do the developing/writing the web and my husband (the creative one) will design it. We only want to do this part time just because we like it and we both work full time anyway. So, we'll do it for friends/relatives etc for starters then see how we go...

I know we both need to study but what exactly should we study- is web developing the same as web designing anyway?

How do we go about this? thanks
