Webb Simpson looking to bring his major winning form in the US PGA Championship
The stage is set for the most awaited major of the year, the U.S. PGA Championship. The venue for this prestigious event is the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, the Ocean Course. The four-day event is going to tee off on the 9th of August and it is
going to end on the 12th of August.
At this event, the elite golfers of the world are going to battle it out for glory. Many renowned players will be featuring in this tournament.
One of the players who is going to be under the spot light for this tournament is the American professional golfer, Webb Simpson.
Simpson is in good form and is one of the favourites for the trophy. The 27-year-old just bagged his career’s first major title, when he won the U.S. Open this year.
It was a tough course but in the end, Simpson managed to come out on the top. He was not able to perform well on the first two days. He completed the par 70 course in 72 and 73 strokes on the first and second day, respectively.
On the next two days, Simpson managed to score two-under par on both the days. These made his score one-over at the end of the fourth day.
At the end, he had just a stroke’s lead from the players who were tied on the second spot, Michael Thompson and Graeme McDowell.
This Thursday, Simpson will be looking to bag another major. He is in good form and is ready for any challenge that might be coming his way in the PGA Championship.
Simpson is ready for the competition. In an interview he said, “When you pack your bags for three weeks every month for a living, it kind of becomes second nature to you, so I felt like I wanted to pack up and get ready to go. Not that I wanted to leave
the family or leave home, but as a competitor you always want to compete”.
Currently, Simpson is happy with his game and is one of the top contenders for the last major of the year.
