Webley Tempest. Rubber washer came off?

I have had this Webley Tempest .177 airgun for probably about 10 years now. I've never had a problem with it untill 2 days ago when I fired it, this rubber washer came flying out upwards and so did the pellet. ive got the washer and it looks like it comes from behind the barrel but for some reason it wont fit in. anyone know what to do?
