  1. If you just want to create a website but aren't interested in learning about web design then something like Moonfruit http://www.moonfruit.com/ would be a good way to go. Moonfruit websites aren't like the majority of websites though as they use Adobe's Flash technology.

If you want to learn about the inner workings of normal websites then a good way to start is to use an already prepared website template. There are hundreds of good quality free ones available at http://www.oswd.org Just find one you like, download it, make the changes you want, upload it to your webserver and off you go.

    Hope this helps

  2. That's one method.

Asking how to design a website is like asking how to paint a picture. There's lots of techniques, and in the end, everyone has their own method.

  3. Well yes, you can take the images place them were you want for your design and then maybe use some of the images as buttons by placing hyperlinks on them etc...

After you are finished the design, you would edit it a bit with html, though since you are using dreamweaver it will have some tools for you.

Someone before me said it is good to know html and java. Well that is wrong. It is good to learn html of course since that is the basic web development language and you will be editing your website in html for mistakes etc... You will never use Java in your website. The person who anwsered before me may have thought java was the same as javascript. Java and JS (JavaScript) or completly different langauges the only things they have in common are the names.

Though javascript may be helpful you do not need to learn that.

It is really good to learn php, since that will give you the options to write if statements and much more advance design.

As you learn html learn CSS too since CSS is the core designing langauge for html based webpages.

---Languages that may come in use, or will come in use---

    -PHP

    -HTML, CSS (Must)

    -JavaScript (may come in use.)

Also it will be good to learn how to use a MySQL database.

As you learn the languages and are going along with your website you can ask your questions at the following forum they uaslly anwser within 30 min. of posting.

  4. No unless you want your website running on images.

  5. There are several ways to design a webpage.

    3 general ways:

    -CSS

    -Photoshop/image template

    -Flash template

Obviously Flash templates would require more work then the other two, and a photoshop template can take a little longer than say a CSS template.

It all depends on which you choose to do.

I personally have done both photoshop and css designs, and I prefer css.

  6. u could, but u could also compose a design 4 a website many other different ways. Developing a website w/ html coding would probably b the easiest way. At least, in my opinion

  7. I found HTML, JAVA, to work pretty well
