I'm looking for any websites offering cheap holidays in Australia (from NZ). (For either 2 adults or 2 adults plus 2 or 3 kids.)

umm... try find Travel Guides and stuff. They usually have packages and it's mostly discounted. Good Luck!

I have found the House of Travel website to be a good source - recently had a holiday in Aus and got my best deal with them.

I've always found the best deals with Flight Centre - but I didn't use their website.

People tell me they find cheap fares on the internet but I have always found better ones by going into a Flight Centre office. Maybe I was just lucky each time...

Just sign up to http://virginblue.com.au - they send you emails once in a while with good package deals  or click the link Specials and Offers or Holidays

normally i'd say www.virginblue.com.au but i find unless booked well in advance they aren't really that cheap. check out www.webjet.com.au they do packages but to give you an idea just yesterday i booked a flight with them from briz to akl and the fare from akl to briz was only $140 including all taxes with emirates
